September 21 - Quick Run Home
Tonights run started pretty ordinarily, with sore legs initially, but it turned into a fairly brisk trot that was enjoyable.I left work and for the first 500m or so I wasn't sure if I was going to make it! My lower legs hadn't really recovered well from the weekend, and it was a huge effort to keep going, especially as I saw the train I normally catch pull into the station.
Perservere I did, and I'm glad that I did.
The run was along Heidelberg Road, through Fairfield Park and along the Capitol City Trail to Dights Falls. Then up to Trenerrey Crescent, through Abbotsford and along Hoddle and Victoria to home.
All up it was 7.5km and I completed it in 41 minutes, which was 5.28 pace.
At times I get discouraged about the pace I run in training runs, but I need to remember that I probably lose 2-3 minutes per run waiting at traffic lights, and I know tonights run I lost about 3 minutes, so that is pretty significant.
