April 23 - South Yarra to Ricketts Point

Up bright and early this morning to do my long, slow run down to Ricketts Point where I was meeting some family for breakfast.

The morning was a bit grey, threatening to rain, and a gusty wind, so not ideal conditions at all. I felt pretty good straight away, dropping immediately into 5m25s pace and maintaining that easily.

I went the usual route, down through Fawkner Park, around the south end of Albert Park Lake, and through to St Kilda Beach. From there it was beside the bay all the way to Ricketts Point.

The swell was actually noticeable in the bay, at points crashing over the rocks onto the running path. I only copped a couple of very brief showers, didn't really even get wet. The wind was gusty, but not strong for very long, so it ended up being okay conditions after the earlier ominous outlook.

I completed the 21km's in 115 minutes, which equates to an average pace of 5m30s per km. Something I did reasonably easy.

The eggs benedict and black coffee were a great way to finish the run!
