July 6 - Brighton to Burnley

I was working in our East Brighton office today, so that allowed me to try out a different running route. I'm glad that I don't have to run that area all the time, because a lot of the running is on footpaths near major roads.

The route followed Hawthorn Road from North Road up to Princes Park, which I cut through and joined Bambra Road and continued in a northerly direction. At the end of Bambra Road I followed the track through Caulfield Path and then headed east along Dandenong Road to Tooronga Road.

Again it was another tough slog up Tooronga Road, crossing the freeway and finally joining the Gardiner's Creek Path. Then I followed the Gardiner's Creek Path to St Kevin's College, where it crossed the Yarra River, finall following the Yarra to Burnley.

All up the run was 13km and took me approximately 76 minutes which was 5.50 pace.

At the moment I'm concerntrating on incresing my run frequency and distances to where they were a few months ago. I'm not too stressed about times as I'll work on that when I have the miles in my legs again. This week has been good as I have 3 runs under my belt, with another planned for this weekend.
