June 22 - South Yarra to Ivanhoe ....another morning!

Due to a trip to Wodonga this weekend I threw in a morning run to work today, and again I just don't function well that early. It just feels like a struggle, and not really comfortable for me. I find this a bit strange as I actually don't mind mornings normally. It's something I will have to work on too, as most fun runs are raced in the early morning and if I want to keep improving on them I need to improve my morning running.

Anyway this morning was extremely mild, so it was a bit of overkill in my tights, shorts, long sleeve top, sleeveless top and beanie, but not unpleasant. I set off along the Yarra before cutting up through Richmond and coming out at the corner of Burnley and Victoria Street. Back over the Yarra and then a steady climb up Walmer Street, which goes for about 750m, and then down the other side to Studley Park Boathouse. Back over the Yarra again and through Yarra Bend Park to Fairfield, and then along Heidelberg Road, finishing with a decent uphill to Upper Heidelberg Road.

I ran okay without really feeling like I could push myself much further, and in all I ran 10.5 km in a time of 61 minutes, which equates to 5.48 pace.

Now off to Wodonga and hopefully will get in a run somewhere different near the Murray!
