October 21 - Long slow run

This morning was my only chance to get a long run in for the weekend, so I was up and out of the house by 8:30, not my favourite time for a run, but wasn't too bad nonetheless.

The morning was coolish, but not terribly so, and with very little breeze it was a good morning for a run.

I headed morth along the Yarra from Gipps Street, and at Dights Falls I followed the Merri Creek path until I reached Rushall Station. It was here that a light rain began to fall, so I was getting a bit concerened as the clouds had gotten a little darker.

However as I turned onto the rail trail through North Fitzroy and Carlton the rain quickly cleared and it was great running weather again. As I got to Princes Park, there were a few more bodies about, so that helped take my mind off the running a little.

From here it was along the underpass and a lap of the zoo, then down through Royal Park, and into Melbourne Uni, down to Grattan Street and through to the Exhibition Gardens. Cutting through the gardens I ran down to Victoria Parade and followed this back to East Melbourne.

All up I completed 17km and finished this in a touch over 100 minutes, so a good steady pace.
