June 19 - Ivanhoe to East Melbourne

I have been a bit slack recently with my running, posting and forum browsing....mainly due to impending home ownership, but also a couple of largeish weekends have put me on the back foot as well.

Anyway this past weekend I had an old friend visiting from the country, so on Friday night we ate and drank the evening away. Wasn't massively late, about 1:30am, but as I had to get up for work on Saturday at 7am, it was big enough. Then on Saturday we had corporate tickets for the rugby, so we decided to make a day of it at the Food & Wine Expo prior. Needless to say Sunday was a fair old write off, especially with the Socceroos match to prepare for.

So with a lot of time and effort to be spent now on getting the apartment ready and buying furnitiure etc., it looks like June will be consigned as a maintenance month.

So today I had organised to meet my GF at East Melbourne, so decided to do a quickish run from work to there. Followed Heidelberg Road to Fairfield Park, and then the usual route to Dights Falls. From there I stayed alongside the Yarra, running through Collingwood Children's Farm to the Gipps Street Bridge. I then ran to Hoddle Street, south to Victoria Parade, and finally finished at Powlett Street.

I then had a long cool down walk with my GF back to South Yarra. All up the running portion was 9km and finished in 44minutes.
