October 28 - Hard Running.

This morning I had arisen at 8am after 5 hours sleep and a fairly solid session at a friend's bucks party. The weather was better than overnight, however it was still very cold and a solid wind.

I left the place we were staying at and decided to head south along the Esplanade from Mt Martha towards Safety Beach. This was directly into the headwind and it made it very tough going indeed.

It was also fairly hilly, so the pace was nothing to right home about. Although the way I was feeling it could have been downhill with a gusty tail wind and I still would not have been able to produce any pace.

I hadn't seen the new Marina development in Safety Beach before, but it was impressive. Some of the engineering feats achieved are astounding.

Anyway about halfway between Safety Beach and Dromana I turned around and it was much easier with the tail wind, although the damage had been done early. I grabbed the paper from the small service station and continued back up to the holiday house.

All up it was 8km in around 50 minutes, which I badly needed.

The weekend then just continued on with breakfast at a cafe in Mornington beginning with a shot of espresso laced with a shot of sambucca. Tasted great, but not what I needed before food.
