October Update

October resulted in 130 kms, definitely getting back into the swing.

Well I have covered a total of 1245 kms so far in 2006, and that has taken me from Melbourne to Mungo Brush on my race around Australia.

What's a Mungo Brush I hear you ask, well my friends Mungo Brush is the name of a small rocky hill that is near the Myall Lakes north of Newcastle. A camping ground and rainforest walk are it's two greatest attractions.

October 30 - The Run Home

Tonight was absolutely spot on for a run. Fine and low 20's with virtually no breeze.

My legs, especially my lower legs, were fairly tired and sore this evening, something I felt particularly on the run down to Chandler Highway. I think a mix of new shoes and hard surfaces has contributed a little to this.

As I went along Yarra Boulevard my legs warmed up properly and I found a nice comfortable rythym. As I went over the Yarra at Fairfield Park and surged up the hill, the shoes were finally feeling like they fit.

Alongside Yarra Bend Golf Course and across to Studley Park for the major hill, up the path and then along Yarra Boulevard again towards Abbotsford and I was really working pretty well. Finally across Gipps Street, and I pulled the pace back a little for the easy jog home.

All up it was 9km completed in 51 minutes.
