May 14 - Around Albert Park Lake to the Tan
Today I was heading down to support some of the Ausrun girls in the Mothers Day Classic at the Tan. So I headed off at about 7:20am and ran along Toorak Road to Fawkner Park, cut through the park to Commercial Road and across St Kilda Road and Queens Road to Albert Park Lake. Ran around the south end of the lake and then up to Albert Road, followed Albert Road to St Kilda Road and then down Domain Road to Anderson Street.I saw the start of the 4km and 8km events, positioned half way up Anderson Street and completely missed all the girls running. So I went down to the corner of Anderson Street and Alexandra Avenue and again missed virtually everyone. I caught a glimpse of Michelle and Jaykay as they rounded the corner. Then I went to just before the finish line and caught Em as she was about 10m past me. When I saw Michelle and Jaykay again, I realised again I had missed Beki completely!
I caught up with Michelle, Jaykay, Em, Beki, Karina & Crissy at the finish, and the support crew of Stu and Marty! (...and Michelle and Marty's junior supporters club!) All the girls did very well, with Em and Beki both running big PB's! I look forward to getting out and running with the Ausrun crew at Williamstown for the Sri Chinmoy run.
