July 28 - First Run With SKINS
Today was a dreaded 'morning run', but this was tempered by my first outing in my new SKINS.It wasn't too cold thankfully, as the SKINS aren't as warm as the Brooks tights I had been wearing, and I could feel the air on my legs a bit more.
Well it was down Darling Street hill and onto Alexandra Avenue, and I spied Tim resplendont in his SKINS and a running companion. Quick hello and then I cut through Richmond and made my way up to where Bridge Road crosses the Yarra.
Again being a morning run, I never felt quite comfortable, and a small cold made things a little more uncomfortable. I pressed on up Church Street to Kew Junction, and then down the hill at Princess Street, along Chandler Highway and across the Yarra for the third time, before turning into Heidelberg Road for the final 2km to work.
All up it was an 11km run in 60 minutes, at about 5:27 pace, but I still didn't really enjoy the morning run. Will be interesting if I notice any differences from wearing the SKINS, I'll let you all know in the future.
